Españoles para usted? O.K. I start Monday, four hours a day for two weeks to begin! ECELA Spanish is the name of the school, I’ll keep you posted!

My first week of Spanish lessons have gone very well, muy bien! I managed 98% on my exam yesterday, would have gotten them all right if I hadn’t gone back and second guessed myself, Classic! It has been a very good review of what I’ve already learned at home with my tutor Rebeca, reinforced my knowledge and learned some new things too. I feel my vocabulary is expanding greatly by being immersed. And I am slowly gaining a little more confidence to speak! The teachers are great, so enthusiastic, they have great energy! There are literally people from all around the world here and our common ground is dance and/or language, at least the ones I am meeting, it is a truly awesome experience!
Another week of Spanish lessons under the belt, it’s getting harder! This week we began past tense, definite and indefinite, Aggggh! I know it is just a matter of repetition and practice. I’m taking next week off to let things digest and then go full on for the following four weeks. My comprehension has always been pretty good but has definitely improved, if I could only figure out what people are
saying when they ask me directions on the street and in the subway I’ll be doing great! I get asked for directions all the time, no matter where I am, it’s the craziest thing!
So I’m back at it, because of the holiday the school week is only three days, to make up for lost classes we have extra sessions in the late afternoon. My first two days back have been 6 hours of Spanish each day. This week is past tense again, I would rather repeat than go forward not really grasping the information, more like a loose grip … LOL! However, it is coming along, and for the next few weeks I am a full time student, it has been awhile since I’ve been in this position, it’s a good feeling!
